Member Guidelines

Our group has grown so much in the past year, now is a good time to publish our guidelines for group-wide communications.  As always, feel free to send all sorts of emails and evites to your friends and small groups: those who have already said they want to hear from you.

This list pertains to communications sent to the whole group, and is designed to prevent anyone from feeling “spammed” while providing adequate channels for networking.

PC MOMS Communication Etiquette

  • We encourage networking.

  • We provide space in our newsletter and our website (www.parkcitymoms.com) for sharing this information. Announcements about your business, including “deals and offers”, should be limited to the newsletter and website.  Business listings are free.  Ads are $25/issue for small ads, and $35/issue for large ads.

  • Group-wide emails should be limited to:

    • Announcements of babies and such

    • Announcements of changes to your directory information (new email address, address, phone, etc)

    • Requests for help or information (doctor recommendations and such)

    • The start of a new PC Moms Group (Bunco, playgroup, book club, physical activity, etc)

    • PC Moms news and announcements from our Web Master or Newsletter Editor

  • Announcements of ALL events should be done using EVITE (www.evite.com). It is okay for these evites to be about your business event. If you are looking to tell the group about your business, and do not have an event, please use the newsletter and/or website.  If you need assistance with evite, the Web Master or Newsletter Editor can instruct you. You are also encouraged to list your event in the newsletter and on the website.

Other helpful hints for emails:

  • Use the “BCC:” field when sending emails to a large group of recipients:
Add your own email address in the “TO:” field and everyone else’s email address to the “BCC:” field. Each Mom will get her own copy of your email without the rest of the addresses showing. It creates a smaller, cleaner email.

  • Be aware of your SUBJECT LINE:
Always remember to put something about PC MOMS or other key words in your SUBJECT line so other Moms will know your email is from someone in our group.
